New Delhi, November 20 (IANS). In today’s irregular and hectic life, weak digestion and decreasing immunity are the biggest problems. Ayurveda has its solution in the form of Trikatu.
The AYUSH Department of the Government of Chhattisgarh describes ‘Trikatu’, one of the most powerful and ancient formulas of Ayurveda, as a 100% medicine. Prepared from just three spices present in the kitchen, this powder does many great things, from awakening the digestive power to increasing the immunity. It has been called ‘Agnideepak’ in Ayurveda.
Trikatu means three pungent medicines dry ginger (dry ginger), black pepper and pippali. Together, these three ignite the Jathragni (digestive fire) of the body, due to which the food is digested properly and the toxins accumulated in the body are removed.
Dry ginger (dry ginger) clears the voice, relieves sore throat and is very effective in reducing swelling in the body. Provides instant relief from cold and cough. At the same time, black pepper strengthens the body’s immunity. It cleans the lungs and helps in flushing out toxins. Pippali accelerates metabolism, helps in weight control, strengthens the respiratory system and is also beneficial in asthma and chronic cough.
Trikatu not only improves the digestive system but also works like a panacea for many problems like cold, cough, asthma, obesity, lethargy, falling ill frequently and weakness. It is also helpful in balancing all three doshas of the body – Vata, Pitta and Kapha.
Ayurvedacharya also explains the method of consumption of Trikatu. Take half a teaspoon of Trikatu powder with lukewarm water or honey in the morning on an empty stomach. Taking it with warm milk before sleeping at night provides instant relief from cough and phlegm. The quantity of Trikatu can be increased or decreased as per the doctor’s advice. It can be easily made at home by mixing dry ginger, black pepper and pippali in equal quantities.
