Noida, July 14 (IANS). With the arrival of monsoon, the risk of mosquito-borne diseases like dengue and malaria has started increasing in the district. Due to waterlogging and lack of cleanliness at many places during the rains, mosquitoes breed rapidly, which increases the possibility of spread of infection. In view of this possible danger, the district hospital administration has completed preparations in time. Eight special wards have been prepared in the district hospital for the treatment of dengue patients.
Necessary medical facilities, trained health workers, adequate stock of medicines and necessary arrangements for monitoring of patients have been ensured in these wards. The hospital administration says that if dengue cases increase in the coming days, the patients will be immediately admitted and provided better treatment. At present, it is a matter of relief that no dengue patient is yet admitted in any government hospital in the district.
Officials say that the rainy season is still continuing, so the risk of infection may increase in the coming weeks. For this reason, hospitals have been kept ready in advance. The Health Department has appealed to the people not to allow water to accumulate in and around their homes. Regularly clean coolers, pots, tanks, old tires and other such places where water accumulates and mosquitoes are likely to breed. It has also been advised to wear full sleeve clothes, use mosquito nets and adopt mosquito repellent measures.
Doctors say that if a person shows symptoms like high fever, headache, body ache, pain behind the eyes, vomiting or red rashes on the skin, then he should get examined at the nearest government hospital or health center without any delay. With timely diagnosis and treatment, complications from a serious disease like dengue can be avoided.
The district hospital administration has assured that the hospital is fully prepared to deal with any emergency during the monsoon season. The Health Department is constantly monitoring the situation and if needed, additional resources will be made available so that the people of the district can get better medical facilities on time.
