Dhaka, 5 October (IANS). In Bangladesh till Sunday morning, 9 more people died due to dengue in the last 24 hours, which is the second largest daily number recorded in 2025.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), with the latest cases of these deaths, the death toll from mosquito -borne disease in Bangladesh has increased to 212. According to the report of United News of Bangladesh, one person has died in Dhaka South Municipal Corporation (8) and Dhaka North Municipal Corporation (DNCC) and Chittagong division.
During this time, 1,042 new cases of dengue have been reported in Bangladesh, which will increase the total number of cases to 49,907 by 2025. According to DGHS, Dhaka Division (201), Dhaka North Municipal Corporation (198), Varshaal Division (195), Dhaka South Municipal Corporation (121), Chittagong Division (104), Rajshahi Division (82), Khulna Division (72), Mayansingh Division (41), Rangpur Division (23), and Silhet Division (5) were rejected.
Currently, 2,439 patients are undergoing treatment in various hospitals in Bangladesh.
DGHS said that during the same period, 1,01,214 dengue cases were reported in Bangladesh and 1,00,040 patients were cured. In 2023, 1,705 people died due to dengue, causing it to become the deadliest year ever.
