New Delhi, March 21 (IANS). The importance of Doob grass increases during Chaitra Navratri because the worship of Maa Jagadamba is incomplete without Doob grass.
Doob grass is offered to Mother Goddess during Chaitra Navratri. Even at the time of Kanya Puja at home, Doob grass is used to touch the feet. Everyone knows about the spiritual importance of Doob but do you know that the use of Doob grass provides internal and external nutrition to the body.
In Ayurveda, Doob grass has been given the title of ‘Amrita’. Its properties are beneficial not only for humans but also for many animals. Doob grass is considered a medicine that balances phlegm and vata. If there is an imbalance of Vata and Kapha in the body, then its consumption balances the doshas, but before using it, it is important to know the properties of its internal and external use.
First let’s talk about external use. Doob grass has the ability to stop blood. If bleeding is not stopping due to injury or old wounds bleed intermittently, then paste of Doob grass can be applied. This will also help in healing the wound along with stopping the bleeding and also prevent infection. With the onset of summer, problems like nose bleeding and headache are also common among people. In such a situation, putting the juice of grass in the nose provides relief. Along with this, you can also soak multani mitti and smell it. Apart from this, if the skin starts burning in summer, you can still use the paste of Doob.
Now let’s talk about its internal use. Doob grass can be consumed for stomach related problems and menstrual pain. For this, consume Doob juice only after medical advice.
