New Delhi, December 28 (IANS). Along with eyes, eyebrows also play a very important role in the beauty of the face. Thick and clean eyebrows add to the beauty. When the eyebrows are properly formed, the face automatically looks attractive. This is the reason why nowadays people resort to various chemical-rich products to make eyebrows thick and beautiful.
Both Ayurveda and science believe that the beauty of any part of the body comes from internal nutrition and proper care. Just as the hair on the head needs nutrition, similarly the eyebrows also need proper nutrition and care.
According to Ayurveda, there can be many reasons for thinning of eyebrows. As age increases, the body’s tissues and systems naturally become weaker, causing the hair roots to become weaker as well. Apart from this, changes in hormones, lack of nutrients in the body, excessive stress and skin related problems can also cause loss or thinning of eyebrows. Science also believes that when proper nutrition does not reach the hair roots, their growth slows down and the hair starts looking thin.
In such a situation, coconut oil has been considered a simple but effective remedy for eyebrows in Ayurveda. Coconut oil has been described in Ayurveda as a hair enhancer i.e. an enhancer of hair growth. This oil is cooling, which soothes skin irritation and strengthens the hair roots. When coconut oil is applied on the eyebrows, it slowly penetrates the skin and reaches the roots of the hair. There it moisturizes dry and weak roots, creating the right environment for new growth.
According to science, the fatty acids present in coconut oil nourish the hair follicles. These fatty acids go to the hair roots and protect them from breakage and make the hair stronger. Additionally, Vitamin E found in coconut oil repairs skin and hair cells. When the eyebrow skin remains healthy, the chances of new hair growing there also increases.
Another major benefit of coconut oil is that it improves blood circulation in the eyebrow skin. When slight warmth is felt in the skin of the eyebrows, the blood flow there increases. Due to better blood circulation, oxygen and nutrients easily reach the hair roots, due to which hair growth gradually becomes stronger.
Along with this, coconut oil also has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. It helps protect the eyebrow skin from infection. Sometimes hair fall occurs due to slight itching, dryness or infection in the skin. Coconut oil reduces these problems and keeps the skin clean and healthy, due to which the growth of eyebrows progresses without any hindrance.
If natural things like fenugreek mentioned in Ayurveda are added to coconut oil, its effect can be even better. Fenugreek contains elements like protein and iron, which give extra strength to the hair roots.
