Reasi, 9 September (IANS). A successful Ajay awareness and health check-up camp was successfully organized in Risai district on Tuesday in Jammu and Kashmir. The camp was set up under the direction of AYUSH Director Dr. Nuzhat Bashir Shah, which aims to promote overall health and make people aware of the benefits of traditional medical practices.
A large number of local people of the area participated in the camp and took advantage of free health check -up, counseling and AYUSH drugs. Expert physicians from Ayurveda, Unani, Yoga and Homeopathy gave guidance to prevention of diseases, lifestyle management and natural remedies.
A local resident in the camp said, “This camp is very good. Such an event is a big initiative for the people.
Doctor Dr. Bilal told IANS, “We were instructed by higher officials to set up this camp for the benefit of the people of Reasi. The objective is not only to provide treatment, but also to make people aware of the free health services available by the government.”
Ayush means Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy. These are traditional medical practices, which focus on overall health, prevention of diseases and natural remedies.
The Ministry of AYUSH, established on 9 November 2014, aims to revive the intensive knowledge of the ancient medical systems of India, to ensure their proper development, publicity and global spread. Earlier, in November 2003, the Department of AYUSH was established for the work focused on education and research.
