New Delhi, March 15 (IANS). Under the ‘TB Free India’ mission, a cricket match was organized between MP-11 and Delhi Police in New Delhi on Sunday. The objective of this match is to spread awareness about TB.
Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde said, “Under TB-free India, matches are played between MP 11 and other teams. Today’s match was with Delhi Police. The goal of eradicating TB seems to be achieved through such matches. Such matches should be organised. We have been playing such matches for 12 years.”
He said that MP people get less time to play matches, but our performance has been good.
BJP MP Soumitra Khan said, “It does not matter whether someone wins or loses in the match between MP-11 and Delhi Police. Our ultimate goal is to defeat TB and we will achieve it.”
Soumitra Khan said that this time the performance of Bharatiya Janata Party will be good in the Bengal Assembly elections and we will form the government.
Under the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, initiated by BJP leader Anurag Thakur, the MPs play friendly matches to give the message of ‘TB Harega, Desh Jeetega’. The ‘MP-11’ team of MPs from different parties plays matches against politicians, police or celebrity XI. The sole objective of these matches is to raise awareness about TB and make India TB free. Through these programs, awareness about TB has increased in India and the number of patients has declined significantly.
MPs like Anurag Thakur and Manoj Tiwari participate enthusiastically in such matches. Both the BJP MPs have been excellent cricketers in their time. Anurag Thakur has also been very active administratively in cricket. He has been the President of Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association and BCCI.
