New Delhi, March 6 (IANS). Grapes are easily available in abundance in the months of February and March. The months of February and March are mildly cold and hot, in which one feels like consuming cold foods.
Consuming cold food in such weather is enough to make one sick, but nature has given such a fruit, which provides coolness in this mild hot weather, that is grapes.
Grapes are not only a delicious fruit but are also rich in many medicinal properties. Grapes are called Draksha in Ayurveda, which provides both coolness and nutrition to the body. Green grapes are said to be helpful in maintaining water balance in the body and reducing bile, while black grapes are said to be useful in nourishing the blood and overcoming fatigue. Science has also found grapes to be rich in vitamins, which are beneficial for the brain and heart. It protects the cells and also spreads energy in the body faster.
First let us talk about green grapes in detail. Green grapes are sweet in taste and light in digestion. Green grapes have the ability to calm pitta. It protects the body from dehydration in summer and also reduces the burning sensation in the stomach. Even if there is a danger of heat stroke in summer, consumption of grapes provides protection from the hot air.
Whereas black grapes are more nutritious and full of medicinal properties than green grapes. Consumption of black grapes increases the amount of blood in the body and also provides strength. Black grapes are also helpful in cleansing the skin and making hair shiny. Black grapes contain antioxidants which also remove internal weakness and tiredness of the body and Vitamin C and E together work to improve hair and skin.
Now the question is what is the right time to eat grapes. Generally, fruits are eaten anytime, which is wrong. Grapes can be consumed in the morning and afternoon. But the thing to keep in mind is that grapes should not be consumed on an empty stomach. Due to the presence of Vitamin C, it can cause stomach irritation.
