The government said that by reducing GST rates on gym/fitness centers, two -wheelers and small cars, the government has not only reduced financial burden on families, but has also carried forward its long -term approach to promoting healthy lifestyle, affordable transport and ease of life.
These steps will directly benefit the middle class, youth and working professionals, as well as demanding demand in major sectors of the economy.
Reducing GST rate at gym and fitness centers from 18 percent to 5 percent is a decisive step towards building a healthy and more active India.
Fitness, earlier many people considered a luxury, are now getting accessible to the broad sections of the society. It is in line with the broader public health agenda of preventive care and health enhancement.
This remedy complements national preventive health initiatives like ‘Fit India Movement’, which encourages citizens to prefer regular exercise and lifestyle changes to prevent chronic diseases.
GST on two -wheelers (bikes up to 350 cc) has been reduced from 28 percent to 18 percent.
