New Delhi, 25 September (IANS). Indian medical system Ayurveda is not limited to treating diseases only, but it also shows us the direction of prevention of diseases and living a healthy life for a long time. The lifestyle mentioned in Ayurveda is called healthy lifestyle nowadays.
The lifestyle and discipline that is mentioned in Ayurveda is called healthy. This is such a lifestyle that keeps the body, mind and soul balanced and the chances of diseases are reduced. From ancient times, these rules of Ayurveda are as effective and relevant as thousands of years ago.
The first rule of healthy is Brahmamuhurte awakening, that is, getting up before sunrise, which brings energy to the body and peace to the mind. Wake up in the morning, toilet, dental (cleaning of teeth with neem or herbal paste) and tongue (cleaning of the tongue) removes the impurities in the body.
Use of Anjan and Triphala water for the protection of the eyes and nose karma (pouring medicinal oil in the nose) is considered good for respiratory and eye health. Similarly, the use of smell, sun and herbal smoke purifies both the atmosphere and the mind.
Abhyang means oil massage daily strengthens the body, soft the skin and strengthens bones. After this, light exercise, yoga and pranayama bring energy to the body. Bathing with lukewarm water provides physical and mental freshness.
In the context of diet, Ayurveda says that food should always be balanced and fresh on time. Seasonal changes in the dietary-diet according to the season are also necessary from the point of view of health. One of the major rules of Ayurveda is Mitbhojan i.e. eating slightly less than hunger.
The rules of water consumption are also mentioned in Ayurveda. A little water before meals, low in between and water should not be drunk after meals. Apart from this, taking enough and timely sleepy sleep makes the body energetic again.
Ayurveda also advises to live a restrained life, follow celibacy and control the senses. For mental health, satsang, positive thoughts, distance from anger and stress and practice of meditation and pranayama are compulsory.
Following these rules not only increases digestive power and immunity, but also keeps the mind calm and stable. In the modern era, it is called healthy lifestyle.
