New Delhi, January 23 (IANS). Whenever the body becomes ill, it immediately recovers itself by taking medicine without knowing the cause of the disease. The medicine provides relief for a short period of time and then after some time the disease engulfs the body again.
Ayurveda believes that it is important to eliminate not just the disease but the root of the disease. If the root of the disease is known then the disease goes away automatically.
Ayurveda believes that the body definitely becomes sick due to the external environment, but the real root of the disease is hidden within us. In Ayurveda, to know the root of the disease, it has been divided into three parts, through which one can get relief from diseases by identifying and improving some habits.
The first root of disease is Prajnaparadha, i.e. knowingly doing things that increase the chances of the body becoming sick. This includes eating wrongly despite knowing, eating even when not hungry, not taking rest even when tired, feeling angry and worried daily and not taking sleep seriously. These are all the reasons which are enough to make any healthy body sick and this is also the first root of the disease.
The second root is the destruction of fire. The digestive fire of the body is not only helpful in digesting food, but it is the center of energy of the body, the energy of the entire body. Things done in Prajnaparadha have a direct effect on the digestive fire and instead of being digested, the food starts rotting in the body. In such a situation, no amount of protein or vitamin rich food can provide half the nutrition to the body and gradually the body starts accumulating.
The third root is the disorder of the doshas. To balance our body, there are three doshas inside the body i.e. Vata, Kapha and Pitta doshas. If these three doshas are balanced then the body remains far away from diseases, but due to the destruction of Agni and accumulation of mango, all three doshas become unbalanced and the body gets surrounded by diseases. Due to this, stomach related diseases, respiratory related diseases, and bone and muscle related diseases start troubling us and we consider them normal and get cured by taking medicines. It is right to take medicines, but along with this it is also important to identify the root cause of the disease, so that the disease can be eradicated from its roots.
