New Delhi, November 11 (IANS). The Indian Medical Association (IMA) expressed deep sorrow and concern over the explosion incident near the Red Fort in Delhi on Monday evening. IMA expresses its condolences to the victims and their families and stands in solidarity with them at this difficult time.
Also, IMA said in its official statement that during the investigation related to the blast, reports of alleged involvement of some doctors have come to light. Reacting strongly to this, the association said that any doctor’s involvement in violence or anti-national activities is condemnable and against the basic principles of the medical profession.
In a statement issued by IMA, it was said that doctors are considered symbols of compassion, service and humanity in the society. In such a situation, if a person misuses his sacred position for illegal or inhuman purposes, he not only betrays the trust of the society but also tarnishes the image of thousands of dedicated and selfless medical professionals across the country.
The association further said that if the investigation proves the guilt of the persons concerned, then the strictest action should be taken against them. The IMA said it fully supports the justice process and is committed to maintaining the dignity and ethics of the medical profession.
IMA assured the public that the doctors of the country are dedicatedly engaged in the service of the society and are always ready for the welfare of the people. The organization reminded that even during the COVID-19 pandemic, doctors had served humanity by risking their lives, and they will continue to perform their duties in the same spirit in the future.
Let us tell you that on Monday evening, a Haryana registered Hyundai i20 car parked near Gate No. 1 of Red Fort metro station exploded, killing at least 10 people and injuring dozens. Investigation into this entire matter has been started.
