New Delhi, November 21 (IANS). The third Joint Working Committee meeting on Alternative Medicine between the Ministry of AYUSH of India and the Federal Ministry of Health of Germany was held in Berlin from 18 to 20 November.
The ministry said the discussions focused on three main points. Incorporating traditional medicine into the public health system, creating reimbursement mechanisms for the convenience of patients, and strengthening the licensing process for drugs and treatment methods.
These topics show that both countries are committed to working together to promote traditional medical practices that are evidence-based and focused on people’s needs.
The main events of the visit also included a visit to the Competence Centre.
An MoU was signed to explore new research opportunities in collaboration with Charite University in the field of traditional and integrative medicine and to take forward the proposed MoU with the Ministry of AYUSH.
Other events included a visit to the community hospital Havelhöhe, where the clinic, integrated care and research practices of anthroposophical medicine were reviewed and detailed discussions were held with the Federal Joint Committee (G-BA) on insurance and reimbursement mechanisms associated with traditional medicine.
This mission shows that the Ministry of AYUSH is making a strategic effort to strengthen high-value international partnerships to promote AYUSH systems across the world, build strong infrastructure and enhance India’s role in the field of global traditional medicine.
The ministry confirmed that continued cooperation with Germany will accelerate research, coordination of regulations and patients’ access to integrated health care solutions based on safety, quality and scientific investigation.
