Hyderabad, June 26 (IANS). On the occasion of International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla appealed to the people to stay away from drugs and cooperate in building a drug-free society.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy said in his message that everyone should stay away from drugs to build a healthy society. He called for creating a drug-free society by developing positive thinking and good values among the youth.
The Chief Minister said that addiction not only ruins a person’s life but also breaks families. This has a negative impact on the society and also creates law and order problems. He said that awareness, vigilance and social responsibility are very important to stop drug addiction and illegal trafficking.
He appealed to all citizens for active participation and cooperation in achieving the goal of “Drug-Free Telangana”.
At the same time, Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla also called upon the people to work unitedly to stop the ill effects of drug addiction and adopt a healthy lifestyle. He said that building a drug-free society is possible only with the collective efforts of everyone.
Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) C.V. Anand also said in his message that drug addiction affects not only the individual but also his family and the entire society.
“Let us all spread awareness, support drug prevention and promote a healthy and drug-free lifestyle. Together we can build a safe and strong Telangana,” he wrote on social media platform ‘X’.
In another message, the DGP said that the fight against drugs is not only the responsibility of the police, but it is a collective campaign of the entire society. He appealed to the citizens to remain alert, raise awareness and become partners in building a drug-free Telangana.
