New Delhi, July 1 (IANS). Senior leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, greeted the country’s medical fraternity on the occasion of ‘National Doctor’s Day’. On this occasion, Prime Minister Modi, while mentioning the improvement in the health infrastructure of the country, said that in the last decade, the number of medical colleges in the country has increased more than double, due to which the youth who want to make a career in the medical field are getting better opportunities.

He further wrote that in the last decade, India has made great progress towards strengthening its healthcare ecosystem. The number of medical colleges has more than doubled, while undergraduate and postgraduate medical seats have increased significantly. This unprecedented growth is creating better opportunities for people aspiring to become doctors, creating a strong healthcare workforce and ensuring that good medical facilities reach every corner of the country.
PM wrote, moving towards building a ‘developed India’, our doctors will continue to play an important role in promoting preventive healthcare, advancing medical research, embracing innovation and providing affordable and accessible healthcare to all.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah wrote on social media platform
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari wrote, “On National Doctor’s Day, we pay our heartfelt tributes to Bharat Ratna Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, whose life epitomized compassion, service and excellence in the field of medicine.
