New Delhi, February 22 (IANS). Madhumalati, which gives fragrance with four beautiful pink petals, is loved by everyone. People use Madhumalati to decorate their homes, but very few people know that it is used in Ayurveda to cure many diseases.
Not only this, Madhumalati oil is also easily available in the market. Today we will know how Madhumalati leaves and flowers can be beneficial.
Madhumalati is mentioned in the ancient medical text Sushruta Samhita, in which many effective properties of this plant have been described. Madhumalati is scientifically called ‘Rangoon Creeper’, which is very easy to grow and requires less care. The beautiful looking flowers and leaves of this plant have been used for centuries in the treatment of cold, cough, fever, joint pain (arthritis) and skin diseases.
If someone has swelling in the kidneys or the kidney function has reduced, then the decoction of Madhumalati bark is considered beneficial. If Madhumalati decoction is taken daily as per doctor’s advice, swelling from internal organs reduces and the organs work effectively.
Apart from this, if there is problem of pain during menstruation and there is problem of swelling on pelvic flow, then also the decoction of its bark is beneficial. Madhumalati has been used for centuries to reduce obesity and balance hormones.
If fresh flowers of Madhumalati are used in case of problem of white discharge in women, then one can get relief from back pain and bone diseases. Not only this, even if skin related problems like itching, acne and skin diseases bother you, the application of Madhumalti leaves also provides relief.
It is believed in Ayurveda that even if chronic cough is not getting cured, still make a decoction by mixing madhumalti leaves with basil. It will provide relief from cough as well as cold and cough. You can also use honey in it for taste.
