New Delhi, June 5 (IANS). Two foreign nationals injured in the fire that broke out in a multi-storey building named ‘Flourish Stay B&B’ in South Delhi’s Malviya Nagar area have been discharged from the hospital after treatment. 21 people had died in this incident.

According to the statement of Max Hospital located in Saket, a total of 15 patients are currently admitted in this hospital in South Delhi. Of these, 13 are foreigners.

The statement said that apart from those injured in the fire who are currently admitted in the hospital, two more injured foreign nationals were brought to the emergency department here from another hospital on the day of the incident i.e. June 3. Both these patients were discharged on the evening of June 4.

Officials said that currently six patients are on ventilator support. However, the condition of all the patients on ventilator is improving and they are stable. It further said that a total of nine patients are admitted in ICU and wards.

The hospital said, “The condition of all the admitted patients is stable. At present no patient is in a very serious condition.”

Additionally, Max Hospital noted that the nature and severity of injuries suffered by patients vary.

“All the patients admitted are recovering and the hospital is providing them the best treatment and regular monitoring to ensure good outcomes,” the hospital said.

Earlier, officials had said that 47 people were rescued from the building and the injured were undergoing treatment.

Meanwhile, several injured people were also brought to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Delhi, including policemen who were the first to reach the burning building.

Officials said on Thursday that after the incident that took place on Wednesday, the property owner Lavkesh Bajaj has been sent to police custody for four days.

Bajaj was also arrested last year for helping a Bangladeshi national, her daughter and her minor grandson, police said. He had helped them stay in the country longer than the stipulated time by making fake documents.
