New Delhi, December 8 (IANS). Whenever body and mind get tired, people resort to tea or coffee. It is generally believed that tea and coffee relieve laziness and give strength to the brain to work with concentration, but its untimely and excessive consumption affects the health of the entire body.

In such a situation, Ayurveda has a solution which is better than the taste of caffeine and beneficial for the body.

In Ayurveda, fatigue and stress have been linked to nerves. When the nerves get tired, the eyes begin to close, sleep occurs, one does not feel like working, and the entire body loses its balance. From head to toe the body demands only rest. In such a situation, herbal tea is very beneficial, which does not cause any harm to the body and helps in improving memory.

To make herbal tea, jatamansi, brahmi and chamomile are required. All these three things are easily available in the market. Jatamansi and Brahmi are herbs and chamomile is a medicinal flower. Boil these three together in water and make a decoction. Filter this mixture and drink it when it is lukewarm. This will help in keeping the body fit and healthy. Together, these three reduce fatigue and relax the nerves, which leads to good sleep.

Jatamansi stabilizes the heart and consciousness and keeps the mind balanced. It provides relief in reducing nervousness and restlessness. The neuro-relaxant compounds present in it calm the nervous system and gradually the body feels less tired. Whereas Brahmi brings clarity and concentration to the mind. Along with this, the hormones that increase stress in the body, cortisol and adrenaline, are balanced. Both these hormones increase restlessness and stress in the body.

Additionally, chamomile has properties that aid sleep. Apart from calming the brain, these are also helpful in inducing deep sleep.

It is also important to know when is the right time to consume herbal tea. For this, it is good to take it before sleeping at night, or in case of continuous stress. You can also consume tea to increase concentration during work. It is not addictive like tea and is completely safe.
