The method of taking oil bath is very easy. For this, first of all apply sesame oil or pure cow’s ghee thoroughly on the entire body and head (scalp). Let the oil remain on the body for some time so that it can absorb properly into the skin. Next use a traditional herbal bath powder, called panchakarpam, to remove the oil. This herbal powder is made from natural herbs and refreshes the skin along with cleansing it.
Repeating this process of oil bath regularly, once every four days, strengthens the body’s immunity. Especially it protects against diseases like cold, fever etc. which occur due to change in weather. It also strengthens muscles and nerves, which improves motor functions and keeps sensory organs like skin, eyes etc. healthy.
