New Delhi, October 8 (IANS). Karva Chauth is a special festival celebrated by Hindu women, in which they keep fast for the long life of their husband and happy married life. This is considered a very difficult fast, because the fasting women remain dehydrated until the moon is seen. In such a situation, it becomes more difficult for pregnant women to remain dehydrated during this period.
Senior medical officer and gynecology expert Dr. Meera Pathak spoke exclusively to IANS on Wednesday and told what things pregnant women can take care of during Karva Chauth fast.
Dr. Meera Pathak, while advising pregnant women not to observe Nirjala fast, said, “Observing Nirjala fast is not safe for both the child and the mother. One should keep taking small amounts of fruits throughout the day during the fast. Banana and apple will also prove beneficial among the fruits. Apart from this, milk, coconut water, lassi, buttermilk and water should be consumed at regular intervals. It is very important for pregnant women to keep the body hydrated. Is. They should avoid dehydration completely.”
He said, “When sargi is done in the morning, pregnant women should eat nutritious food and should not eat fried food. Carbohydrate rich food includes chapatti and poha, protein rich food includes cheese and curd, while fruits include banana and apple.”
Dr. Pathak told that one should not stand or sit for a long time during puja. If you feel tired or dizzy, the baby moves less in the stomach, heartbeats feel fast, there is pain in the stomach or head, then in such conditions a doctor should be definitely contacted.
He also told that special care needs to be taken in high-risk pregnancies. If the mother has anemia or high blood pressure, then fast only after consulting the doctor, otherwise do not fast. At the same time, when you eat food after seeing the moon, keep it light.
