Rae Bareli, October 14 (IANS). The pharmaceutical unit of the Food Safety Department of Uttar Pradesh has sealed Ajay Pharma Agency located in Kallu Ka Purva in Rae Bareli district in connection with the purchase of 1.40 lakh vials of codeine syrup. Along with this, a case has been registered against the operator.
The Food Safety Department is running a campaign against codeine syrup in the entire state. In the same sequence, after getting information about the matter during the campaign conducted in Lucknow, the drug inspector’s team raided the agency. On receiving information about the arrival of the team, the operator closed the agency and ran away.
When the team reached the agency, it was found closed, after which the agency was sealed and a case was registered against the operator. Initial investigation revealed that Lucknow-based firm Indika Life Science used to purchase codeine syrup from Transport Nagar.
Drug Inspector Shivendra Pratap Singh, while talking to IANS, said that the information was received on mobile from the informer. After this, a team was formed and Ajay Pharma was raided in Kallu Purva. Even before the team arrived, the agency operator had fled from the spot. Search for him is going on
He told that the operator of the agency had purchased 1.40 vials of codeine syrup from Lucknow-based firm Idika Life Sciences Transport Nagar and was planning to sell it. On the spot, the team members examined the medicines kept in the agency, in which there is a suspicion of misuse of codeine syrup.
Shivendra Pratap said that further action will be taken after the investigation report comes. Ajay Pharma has been sealed. Police team was also present on the spot. A team has been formed to arrest the agency operator, he will be arrested soon. This campaign will continue further also.
