New Delhi, February 13 (IANS). It is very important to keep the mind along with the body healthy. But it is also true that in today’s times this is a big challenge. Work pressure and irregular lifestyle leave no stone unturned in affecting mental health. In such a situation, experts advise to include some easy habits in the daily routine.

According to the National Health Mission (NHM), mental stability and good focus increases productivity and helps in performing better at the workplace. With strong mental health, a person deals with stress better, decision making ability increases and balance is maintained in life.

Mental health can be effective in keeping the entire body healthy. Poor mental state leads to absenteeism and decreased productivity. Therefore, one can remain healthy by adopting easy measures in everyday habits.

According to experts, to stay mentally healthy, do regular exercise, eat a balanced and nutritious diet and get good sleep. It is true that in today’s time gadgets have become an essential part. However, control on this is necessary. In such a situation, stay away from mobiles and screens, especially before sleeping.

According to psychology, small things give happiness, which are good for the mind. Express gratitude to others for this, say thanks for small good things. If you like what someone says, praise him openly. Start reading books, listening to stories, or writing down your thoughts in a diary.

Spend time with family and loved ones like friends etc. and engage in family activities. Also practice yoga and meditation daily. Along with staying away from mobile phones, limit the use of social media for a limited time and avoid unnecessary scrolling. Learn a new skill or take up a hobby, like painting, gardening or music.

These small steps keep thoughts balanced and mentally healthy. If necessary, contact a doctor or counselor.
