We all have been hearing since childhood that one should get up early in the morning. Sleeping late has many health disadvantages. Now science has also stamped this thing said by our elders. According to a recent study done by Bringham Young University of America, according to which teenagers who wake up late in the morning, in addition to laziness, obesity, the chances of getting diabetes also increase to a great extent.
During the study, researchers conducted research on youth for a week. For this, monitoring of eating was done after getting 6.5 hours of sleep at night for a week and after sleeping and waking up for 9.5 hours at night for the next week.
A new study from Bringham Young University found that those who wake up late every morning have a higher risk of developing health problems, including diabetes. Because they consume more sugar when they are tired.
The lead author of this study, Dr. Kara Duraccio, says that what we are eating is more important than how much we are eating. If we take a diet that increases the sugar level, such as carbohydrates or food items with added sugar, then it negatively affects the energy balance.
Risk of diabetes and obesity: Regarding the study done throughout this research, Dr. Duracio says that obesity is becoming a big problem in youth. As obesity increases, the risk of developing diabetes also increases. So the youth have to seriously consider their eating pattern as well as sleeping pattern. Adequate sleep is essential, but too much sleep can pose many risks. Apart from this, youth need to take more and more protein-rich foods in breakfast.
Increases in the level of blood sugar in the body: According to Dr. Cara Duracio, the head of this study, if we eat foods with carbohydrates or added sugars in the diet, then it can increase the level of blood sugar in the body. High level of sugar in the body causes diabetes and obesity. Due to such foods, excess fat starts accumulating in the body.
