New Delhi, January 17 (IANS). Rare herbs have been used for centuries in Ayurveda for treatment. The properties of herbs have the power to provide relief from even the biggest diseases, but do you know that in Ayurveda, the work of curing diseases through ashes has already been done.
We are talking about Shankha Bhasma, which is known as Miraculous Bhasma in Ayurveda.
Shankh Bhasma is an Ayurvedic medicine which is used in the treatment of problems like acid reflux. It has anti-acid properties that provide relief from symptoms like heartburn and pain. In Rasashastra, conch shell has been described as a mineral under the pure category. Shankha Bhasma is one of the important Bhasmas used by Ayurvedic practitioners in daily practice.
Shankh Bhasma is used to cure everything from stomach-related disorders to bone and joint disorders, but the thing to keep in mind is that do not use Shankh Bhasma without a doctor, because it is not eaten directly, but is consumed by mixing it with something or the other. It is pungent in taste and the quantity of its consumption is decided according to the disease.
If the digestive fire of the stomach has become weak, there is pain in the stomach, vomiting problem due to gas formation or headache, then Shankh Bhasma can be used. Shankh Bhasma resets the digestive fire, which helps in digesting food properly and improves the digestion process.
Shankh Bhasma is mainly calcium carbonate. It helps maintain bone health, prevent osteoporosis and maintain the strength of teeth. If there is calcium deficiency in the body, Shankha Bhasma can still be consumed, but pregnant women must consult a doctor before consuming it.
Shankha Bhasma also works to balance Vata and Kapha doshas in the body. If both these doshas are unbalanced in the body then many diseases arise. This causes problems ranging from stomach to skin. Apart from this, you can also apply and consume Shankh Bhasma to get rid of facial pimples and blemishes.
