New Delhi, June 29 (IANS). Union Health Minister JP Nadda on Monday launched several digital initiatives, including ‘Ayushman Sarathi–PM-Jai WhatsApp Chatbot’ and drug registry. These are aimed at better and effective delivery of health services and increasing the satisfaction of the beneficiaries.
This chatbot provides essential PM-JAY services to the beneficiaries anywhere and anytime, thus eliminating the need to visit government offices or call centres.
The minister told an event that this system is connected to the PM-JAY system through secure API based integration and provides real-time information and services on WhatsApp itself.
Through Ayushman Sarathi, beneficiaries will get many services like eligibility check under PM-JAY, viewing Ayushman card, applying for card, card download, e-KYC update, linking Aadhaar, locking/unlocking PM-JAY card and Ayushman Vaya Vandana card for people above 70 years of age.
According to the Health Ministry, this chatbot has been designed in such a way that it makes services more accessible, transparent and citizen-centric. With this, people will get immediate services, dependence on call centers and offices will be reduced and the process of filing complaints will also be easier.
The platform will also promote data-based governance, which will enable feedback collection, complaint management and continuous improvement in health services, the official statement said. Apart from this, JP Nadda also launched Drug Registry, which is an integrated and standardized digital platform for information related to medicines.
It has been developed under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission and is designed to be a ‘single source of truth’ for medicines in India. This will standardize the identification, storage, exchange and use of medicines across health systems.
The drug registry has been developed in collaboration with the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization and the Pune-based National Resource Center for EHR Standards.
Along with this, the Health Minister also launched the Unified Health Interface, which is an interoperable network for digital health services.
Unified Health Interface is the service layer of Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission. It is an open network that connects patients and healthcare providers through different digital platforms, without being dependent on a single app.
In this system, when a patient searches for health services through a Unified Health Interface enabled app, his request reaches the registered service providers through the gateway.
