New Delhi, February 2 (IANS). All India Institute of Ayurvedic Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi has received a special allocation in the Union Budget, aimed at strengthening research, innovation and overall development in the country’s premier medical institute.
Underscoring the significance of the allocation, Dr. Reema Dada, in-charge of AIIMS Hospital Media Cell, said the increased budgetary support will help AIIMS expand its role as a national center for advanced medical research, innovation and capacity building.
Speaking to IANS, Dr. Reema informed that this allocation will be used to promote cutting-edge research in various medical disciplines, encourage innovation in healthcare delivery and strengthen developmental initiatives within the institute. He said the focus would be on advancing scientific knowledge as well as improving treatment outcomes for patients.
Dr. Reema said that the special allocation in the health budget will give impetus to research, innovation and development activities at AIIMS. This will help us strengthen existing research programs and create new opportunities for innovation in the medical field.
Emphasizing the national responsibility of AIIMS, Dr. Reema said that this institute not only provides specialized health services but also makes important contribution in policy research and medical education. He said that with this budgetary support, AIIMS will be better positioned to better serve patients, train future healthcare leaders and contribute to the advancement of medical science.
This year, AIIMS, New Delhi has received an additional allocation of Rs 5,500.92 crore, which is 5.85 percent more than last year.
This special allocation to AIIMS Delhi reflects the government’s focus on empowering premier health institutions as part of its broader efforts to improve health outcomes, foster innovation and build a strong and resilient health system in the country.
