Nagpur, October 9 (IANS). Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav reached Nagpur, Maharashtra on Thursday, where he inquired about the condition of the children of Chhindwara at New Health City Hospital and Government Medical College. These children had fallen ill after drinking cough syrup. Taking aim at the Tamil Nadu government, he said that the government there is not cooperating with the Madhya Pradesh Police.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav took detailed information on the treatment status from the doctors in the hospital and talked to the families of the children. After this, instructions were given to the officials to keep monitoring continuously. The state government is with the families of the victims. Will not let them face any kind of problem.
The Chief Minister said that the people of the place where cough syrup was made in Madhya Pradesh have been arrested by the police. Targeting the Tamil Nadu government, he said that the government and officials there are not cooperating with us. Random sample investigation should be done from our side also. When mistakes were made from our side, we removed the drug controller, suspended the assistant controller and the doctor who had a medical store in his wife’s name used to prescribe only this medicine. We also took action against them for some such reasons.
He said that in this entire matter, we made complete arrangements from administrative point of view along with human perspective, because these children are ours. The government of the place where this company manufactures medicines should take concrete steps and take appropriate action.
The Chief Minister said that the medical reports that come, the way people go away after getting treatment from private medical colleges and hospitals. From the point of view of the report, we have seen in the investigation in the management that basically the medicine is at fault. As soon as the report came, we banned it and arrested the people involved in it. Our government is not going to leave anyone.
He said that Congress should now go to Tamil Nadu and stage a protest. How such a big factory has been built in such a small space is a matter of thought, and how the license of that company has been renewed again.
