New Delhi, 11 September (IANS). Epilepsy is a serious disease, in which brain activities become abnormal and the person has frequent seizures. This disease can suddenly engulf a person at any time, which creates conditions such as shocking, fainting, or strange acts in the body.

Epilepsy is usually treated with medicines, but in many cases the patients have seizures despite regular medicines. In such a situation, yoga is an effective and natural option.

According to the Ministry of AYUSH, yoga not only calms the brain, but also helps in keeping the functioning of the brain balanced.

Anulom-enlightenment pranayama is extremely special for epilepsy patients, as it has a positive effect on the veins of the brain and reduces mental stress, which can be helpful in reducing the trigger of epilepsy. By doing this for 10 to 15 minutes daily, the brain brings stability and the chances of seizures can decrease.

The use of Kapalbhati Pranayama is considered useful in epilepsy because it activates brain cells and fresh oxygen to them. Also, this yogasan strengthens the nervous system, which removes mental instability.

It is a type of acute breathing action. In this, the breath is thrown out rapidly and the stomach is pulled inward. This action helps in removing toxic elements from the body.

Tadasana is very beneficial for epilepsy patients. This asana improves the balance of the body and mentally increases concentration. The process of breathing and release brings peace to the brain, which can reduce the chances of seizures.

In this asana, when we straighten the body and pull the hands up, then there is a stretch in the spinal cord and energy is transmitted in the body.

In epilepsy, halasana is particularly helpful, as blood flows towards the head increases while doing this asana, which makes the brain cells more active and works balanced.

This can reduce the risk of seizures. Halasana not only benefits the brain, but it is also considered extremely useful for digestion and spinal cord.
