New Delhi, 18 September (IANS). Turmeric is the most important spice of our kitchen. It not only gives food taste and color, but is also very beneficial for health. According to Ayurveda, it has also been considered as a life -saving medicine.
The element called curcumin present in turmeric makes it a natural antibiotic and natural steroids. The properties present in curcumin make it powerful antioxidants and anti-inflammatory, which protects it from many diseases in the body.
Research suggests that the absorption of curcumin increases by two thousand times in the body when consumed with black pepper. This is the reason that turmeric is also used prominently in medicines.
Consuming turmeric is also beneficial for mental health. It enhances the mood by increasing serotonin and dopamine hormones in the brain and helps in reducing problems like anxiety and depression. Turmeric is also effective in fighting deadly diseases like cancer, as curcumin helps prevent the growth of cancer cells.

Consuming turmeric is also a boon for beauty. It enhances the skin tone, removes stains and prevents wrinkles due to anti-aging properties. This is the reason that in Indian traditions, the ritual of applying turmeric before marriage is performed.
The special significance of turmeric is mentioned in Ayurveda. It is advisable to take it in the morning on an empty stomach with lukewarm water, mixed with milk or with honey. Especially turmeric milk, called Golden Milk, is a great way to remove problems like cold, cold, cough and fatigue.
A mixture of turmeric and honey gives immediate relief in cough. The decoction of turmeric, ginger and basil is also effective in increasing the immunity.
