New Delhi, 24 September (IANS). Fever due to seasonal changes has become common nowadays, which is also known as viral fever. Ayurveda keeps it in the category of fever. In simple language, it tests the body’s immunity.
Viral fever is mainly due to the entry and growth of the virus in the body. The sudden change of weather, such as rainy or summer-thunder, creates favorable conditions for the virus to flourish. It easily affects those whose immunity is weak.
In addition, it can also spread from one person to another. If a person suffering from viral fever sneezes, coughing or sits near someone, then he can also fall ill. Symptoms of viral fever suddenly appear as fever, body pain and fatigue, sore throat and cough, headache, chills, loss of appetite and sometimes diarrhea or vomiting.
Ayurvedic and home remedies prove to be very effective for dealing with viral fever. Tulsi decoction, in which 5-7 leaves of basil, ginger and black pepper are boiled, gives the body the strength to fight infection. Taking 2 teaspoons of Giloy juice in the morning and evening increases immunity and keeps the fever controlled. Turmeric milk relieves body fatigue and increases immunity. Drinking lemon and honey mixed with lukewarm water provides relief in fever and weakness. Coriander decoction and ginger tea are also helpful in preventing viral infection and reducing body heat. In addition, adequate water and fluids such as coconut water, soup and juice protect the body from dehydration.
Lifestyle changes are necessary to prevent viral fever. Take a diet rich in vitamin C and antioxidants, enough sleep and relax, do not eat fried and heavy food, but eat light and digestible food. Also do pranayama and yoga. Apart from this, if someone has an infection, take measures to avoid the spread of the virus, also use masks etc.
Also, some facts are also important- such as not every fever is viral, sometimes typhoid, dengue or malaria also resembles viral fever. Viral fever often cures automatically in 5-7 days, and antibiotics do not affect the virus. Sweating is a good sign, it is the process of extracting the body heat. Different viruses can produce different types of viral fever. In Ayurveda, it has been seen by associating with imbalance of defects and weakness of digestive fire.
