New Delhi, October 25 (IANS). In today’s busy life, joint pain i.e. arthritis has become very common. Earlier it was considered a disease of only the elderly, but now younger people are also troubled by it. Arthritis is increasing rapidly due to reasons like continuous sitting, wrong eating habits, swelling in the body and stress.
In this disease, there is swelling, pain, stiffness and difficulty in walking in the joints. Sometimes the condition becomes so bad that even doing small daily tasks becomes difficult. The Ministry of AYUSH and many yoga experts believe that if yoga is made a part of lifestyle along with medicines, then the pain of arthritis can be controlled to a great extent.
According to the Ministry of AYUSH, yoga not only makes the body flexible, but also improves blood circulation, strengthens the muscles and also keeps the mind calm. Yoga works like a bridge between body and mind. When the body is calm and balanced, pain and swelling also gradually start reducing. In diseases like arthritis, along with medicines, it is very important to awaken the energy of the body and yoga plays an important role in this.
Tadasana: This asana improves the balance and posture of the body. When you stand straight and raise your hands and pull the body, it stretches the spine and the muscles of the legs. This stretch increases the flow of energy in the body and reduces stiffness in the joints. This asana is very beneficial for those who stand for a long time or have pain in their knees.
Vrikshasana: This asana improves body balance and helps in concentrating. Standing on one leg, placing the other leg on the thigh and bringing the hands in the Namaste posture brings stability to the body. It is good for arthritis patients because it strengthens the joints of hips and legs. If balancing seems difficult in the beginning, you can practice by taking the support of a wall.
Bhujangasana: This asana is like a boon for those people who suffer from waist or lower back pain. Lying on the stomach and raising the chest brings flexibility in the spine. This asana also reduces pain in spine, shoulders and neck. Its regular practice strengthens the upper body and provides relief from stiffness associated with arthritis.
