New Delhi, June 13 (IANS). Only a few days are left for World Yoga Day. In such a situation, the Ministry of AYUSH of the Government of India has given important advice regarding heart health. According to the ministry, in their busy lifestyle, people pay attention to their achievements and earnings, but often forget to take care of their heart. Whereas the heart itself preserves every heartbeat of our life.
Health experts say that in the rush to achieve more, earn more and do more, we ignore the organ which keeps working day and night without getting tired. A healthy heart is the foundation of a long and happy life. The ministry has described yoga, meditation and pranayam as very important for heart health.
Yoga and meditation keep the mind calm, reduce stress and also improve emotional health. Regular yoga practice keeps blood pressure under control, cholesterol level is balanced and heart muscles become strong. Asanas like Bhujangasana, Shavasana, Anulom-Vilom Pranayam and Surya Namaskar play a special role in improving heart health. These asanas improve blood circulation and keep the heart healthy.
Bhujangasana: -The upper part of the body is raised while lying on the stomach. It strengthens the spine and is considered beneficial in back pain.
Shavasana:- Lying on the back in a completely relaxed posture. It helps in reducing mental stress and relaxing the body.
Anulom-Vilom Pranayam:- The breathing process of inhaling from one nostril and exhaling from the other. It is helpful in increasing lung capacity and keeping the mind calm.
Surya Namaskar:- Systematic practice of 12 yoga postures. It is a full body exercise, which increases flexibility, strength and energy.
According to experts, taking out some time in your busy routine to do yoga and meditation not only keeps your heart healthy but also helps in living an active and healthy life in old age. For this, practice yoga for 30 to 45 minutes every morning. Adopt deep breathing exercises for heart. Stay away from stressful thoughts. Eat a balanced diet and adequate sleep.
