New Delhi, June 3 (IANS). World Yoga Day 2026 is just a few days away. This time Yoga Day is especially focused on ‘aging’. The Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India has given a clear message that age is not a barrier, but it is just a number. What really matters is how you are living, how actively you are spending your day and how aware you are in every moment of life.
Health experts believe that old age can be made healthy with the practice of yoga. According to the Ministry of AYUSH, the foundation of healthy old age lies in being active daily. Yoga is proving to be very effective in this direction. Regular practice of yoga increases physical strength, balance, flexibility and mental peace. This not only reduces the problems related to aging, but also makes life more energetic and happy.
Yoga experts say, yoga is not just an exercise but a lifestyle. Along with taking care of the family, it is important to take care of your health also. Many people face physical weakness, joint pain, stress and sleep problems as they age. Yoga helps to control all these naturally. Both body and mind can be strengthened through asana, pranayam and meditation.
Yogasana has many physical benefits, it increases muscle strength, strengthens bones and maintains body balance. There is less risk of falling. Stress, anxiety and depression decreases. The mind remains calm and memory becomes sharp. Regular practice of yoga increases immunity, which reduces the risk of diseases related to aging.
The Ministry of AYUSH believes that yoga is useful for people of all ages. Be it young or old, everyone can live a long and healthy life by including it in their daily routine. For this, make a habit of doing yoga for 20-30 minutes daily at home.
