Heart disease is no longer the problem of older generation. The strict arteries and resulting heart attacks are making the younger generations, even teenagers their prey. Sudden deaths from a heart attack remain in the news. We have to understand that these problems do not suddenly come, these are the results of our years of negligence, wrong eating and poor lifestyle.

Today’s generation has monitored the phone notifications all the time for years.

It is unaware of uncontrolled blood pressure and diseases caused by it. Blood pressure and diabetes are affecting not only the heart, but also many other organs like kidney, liver. Therefore, it is important to understand the importance of proper diet, healthy routine as well as regular health check-up.

Why are heart attacks growing in the younger generation?

The biggest reason for increasing heart problems in youth is irregular lifestyle. People are getting away from exercise, exercise, even common physical activities like walking are decreasing. Screen time has increased for people of all ages. This is the reason that obesity and diabetes are already engulfing people before the age of 40.

Other risk factors such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol are also increasing. People’s food habits have changed. The food has been replaced by nutrients replaced by sophisticated carbohydrates, trans fats, sugars and processed foods. In addition, smoking, alcohol and other narcotics are damaging the arteries. All these factors interrupt the functioning of the heart, which increases the risk of disease and death greatly.

Many other reasons are also responsible.

Stress is an unwanted part of today’s lifestyle, which is good and deprived of adequate sleep. People do not get physical and mental comfort due to working and irregular work hours till late night. It is having a negative effect on health. There is a risk of heart disease due to some genetic reasons.

Using steroids, not following high protein/energy drinks and proper fitness routines are causing many health problems today. Environmental poisoning is a serious challenge of today. Heart diseases are causing heart diseases due to increasing use of pesticides, adulterated foods and heavy metals.

Vigilance towards women will have to increase

Due to changes in lifestyle, problems of obesity, diabetes and high blood pressure have also started in women. He is also facing health challenges due to hormone imbalance. After menopause, the security of estrogen in women decreases. Women often hide problems like fatigue, breathlessness, indigestion and chest pain for a long time, due to which they do not get treatment on time. This makes the problem serious, sometimes incurable.

Control blood pressure and diabetes for a healthy heart

Hypertension – Hypertension is often without symptom, but keeps damaging the arteries.

How it causes damage – it makes the walls of the blood vessels thick and rigid. This increases the risk of atherosclerosis. The heart muscle thickens, which increases the risk of heart rate, stroke and kidney disease.

Status in India – almost every fourth adult suffers from high blood pressure. About 60 percent of the patients are unable to know and less than 15 percent of the patients who are detected are adequately controlled. It is important to stay away from stress, salt -rich diet, pollution and comfortable lifestyle.

Diabetes – more sugar damages the layer of blood vessels and the plaque freezes quickly.

Diabetic dislipidemia – high triglycerides and low HDL increases the risk of heart attack. Diabetic patients often have painless heart attack. People suffering from diabetes are likely to have a heart attack two to four times more.

Status in India – More than 23 million people in India suffer from diabetes. Adolescent diabetes is taking severe form due to obesity, unhealthy diet and physical inactivity. If the heart is there is tomorrow, start taking care of it from today itself. If we get it checked on time, improve lifestyle and control risk factors, heart disease can be avoided. Care is real cure.

Understand warning signs in time

Sneake from the doctor when there is heaviness in the chest, shortness of breath during normal activities, fatigue, beating, frequent indigestion.

Get ECG done if needed. Timely medicine (anti-clot drugs) or angioplasty can be saved.

Regular follow -up action is necessary with monitoring of risk factors.
Screening should be started at the age of 20–30 in Indians for genetic reasons.

Identify the risk factors of heart disease.

Regular health check -up – Monitor blood pressure, sugars, cholesterol, weight and growing shapes of the waist.

Medical examination – High -risk patients should conduct ECG, echocardiogram, treadmill tests.

Blood tests (blood markers, such as lipid profiles) – HS -CRP lipoprotein (A). Family history. If parents/siblings have a heart attack, then get yourself checked.

These habits will save.

Balanced diet – Eat fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, millet, dry fruits, fish etc.

Exercise – Exercise medium intensity at least 30 minutes daily. Take time for yoga/meditation. Weight control – The smaller your BMI and waist size, the less the chances of getting sick.
Develop the right habits – avoid smoking and alcohol. Leaving tobacco reduces the risk of heart attack by 50 percent.
Community level measures – Awareness programs, CPR training in schools/colleges, availability of AED in public places is necessary.
