At least 128 flights were canceled at the Delhi airport on Monday due to dense fog, eight flights were diverted, while around 200 flights were delayed.
Due to dense fog and low visibility conditions at the Delhi airport, 64 departure and 64 arrival flights were cancelled, while eight flights were diverted, an official said.
Delhi airport operator DIAL (Delhi International Airport Limited) said in a post on ‘X’ that runway visibility is improving, but departures and arrivals of some flights may still be affected.
According to information available on flight tracking website flightradar24.com, around 200 flights were delayed, with an average departure delay of about 24 minutes.
“Fog is persistent over many airports in Delhi and North India. Visibility remains low and due to this, flight movement is currently slower than normal, resulting in delay in some flights,” IndiGo said in a post on ‘X’.
Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) operates the national capital’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA), which handles around 1,300 flights daily.
