On Monday evening, an explosion in a car parked near Gate No. 1 of Lal Qila (Red Fort) metro station of Old Delhi shook the entire area. The sound of the explosion was so loud that many vehicles parked nearby caught fire and hundreds of people present there started running here and there to save their lives. Seven vehicles of Delhi Fire Service were sent to the spot and relief work started.

8 deaths confirmed so far, but the number may increase – condition of many injured is critical

According to hospital sources and our local reporter, the death toll is currently reported to be 8, but the condition of many seriously burnt people is critical, so the death toll may increase. The number of injured is more than 12. The dead included many local street vendors, tourists and passers-by. All the injured have been admitted to LNJP and Aruna Asaf Ali Hospital.

NSG and Delhi Police Special Cell took charge, complete siege in the area

NSG commandos, Special Cell of Delhi Police and forensic teams are engaged in investigation at the incident site. The entire Red Fort area has been cordoned off. In the initial investigation, the police are not ruling out the possibility of technical fault or CNG explosion, but a terrorist conspiracy has also not been completely ruled out. The NSG team has collected samples of the blast and started investigation.

Traffic diverted, security increased in Red Fort and Chandni Chowk area.

Delhi Traffic Police has changed routes on all major roads of Old Delhi. Additional police teams have been deployed at the metro station and nearby markets. The administration has appealed to the people not to pay attention to rumors and stay away from crowded areas.

This is the video after the blast near the Red Fort. Right now it is difficult to say what this blast is and who did it. But today itself many terrorists and terrorist modules have been caught. About 3 thousand kg of suspected explosive has been seized in Faridabad. Is it part of some big conspiracy in India and in the capital Delhi… pic.twitter.com/HOxKvUbN7z
