New Delhi. Special intensive revision of voters in Bihar, SIR, the Supreme Court has given an important order during the hearing. A bench of Justice Suryakant and Justice Jayamalya Bagchi has said in its order that the Aadhaar card for SIR in Bihar will be valid as the 12th document. Earlier, the Election Commission did not accept the Aadhaar card, ration card and earlier voter ID card for SIR in Bihar as documents. Now by ordering the validation of Aadhaar to the Aadhaar’s 12th document from the Supreme Court, will facilitate all the people of Bihar, whose name has been out of the draft voter list due to lack of 11 documents. The Supreme Court bench said after hearing that Aadhaar card can be given a place in the list of valid documents. The court also made it clear that the Aadhaar card cannot be considered as evidence of citizenship. The Supreme Court said that due to this, the Election Commission can investigate the authenticity and reality of the Aadhaar card. The Election Commission had sought documents fixed as evidence of citizenship from all the voters of Bihar in SIR. Leaders of several parties filed a petition in the Supreme Court against this. These petitions were heard by the Supreme Court several times. Those who filed the petition had argued that the Aadhaar card should also be given a valid document. At the same time, the Election Commission said that Aadhaar under the law is only a document of identity. Aadhaar card is not valid for citizenship.
The Bihar assembly election schedule is expected to be announced in October. Bihar assembly elections will be held in November. According to sources, the results of Bihar assembly elections will also be announced by the 20th of November itself. Meanwhile, it has also been reported from sources that the Election Commission is preparing to conduct SIR across the country in October. In this connection, the Election Commission has also called an important meeting of the Chief Electoral Officers of all the states in Delhi on September 10.
