Today, on Friday afternoon, bomb threatening emails in two major high court complexes, Bombay and Delhi, caused chaos. Precautionary hearing was postponed in both places and a search operation was carried out by vacating the entire campus.
According to officials, a threatening email was found at the official email address of the Bombay High Court, warning of a bomb blast in the building.
As soon as the information was received, the policemen reached the spot and all the judges, lawyers, employees and visitors were taken out as a precautionary measure. A comprehensive search operation was launched under the standard operational procedures (SOPs) with the help of bomb disposal squad (BDDS) and dog squad.
On the same day, afternoon, the Delhi High Court also received a bomb threat through email, after which there was a stir.
The theme of threatened email was the line-“Pakistan-Tamil Nadu’s collusion for holy Friday blasts”-and it was claimed that three bombs have been planted in the judge room/court premises and the court premises should be vacated by 2 pm. “
The email was reportedly sent from ID “kanimozhi.thevidiya@outlook.com”.
In the letter, the controversial claims were written that preparations have been going on since 2017 and there will be an explosion in the judge room soon after the afternoon Islamic prayers. As soon as this email was received, there was chaos in the Delhi High Court campus. All benches immediately stood up and lawyers, cases and employees were taken out.
Delhi Police said that the bomb disposal squad has been deployed at the scene. Investigation agencies say that recently, Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC) and Delhi Chief Minister Secretariat had received similar threats, which were later found to be fake.
Officials say that a search operation is going on in both Bombay and Delhi High Court premises and there is no need to panic. The police is trying to find out the source of email with the help of cyber experts.
