Amidst the ongoing tension in West Asia and the fuel crisis in the global market, India has come forward to help its neighbours. Bangladesh has made a special request to the Indian Government for the supply of diesel, which is being considered by the Ministry of External Affairs. India has already started supplying diesel through pipeline so that the electricity and transportation system in the neighboring country continues to run smoothly.

How much diesel is Bangladesh getting from India?
Under the agreement between India and Bangladesh regarding fuel supply, diesel consignments are being sent continuously. The details of supplies made in the last few days are given below:
Total Delivery: So far, 17,000 metric tons of diesel has been sent through the pipeline in the month of March.
Recent consignment: On April 1, the third consignment of 7,000 metric tons of diesel reached Bangladesh.
Source of supply: This diesel is being sent from Numaligarh Refinery in Assam through Friendship Pipeline.
next goal: India has proposed to provide additional 40,000 tonnes of diesel in April, which Bangladesh has accepted.
What does the Ministry of External Affairs have to say on the help of neighboring countries?
Indian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal has made it clear that India is considering the requests of not only Bangladesh but also Sri Lanka and Maldives. The government is taking the decision to help these countries keeping in mind their refining capacity and the need for oil within the country. At present, due to global conditions in Bangladesh, a surge in oil prices has been seen and people are buying more oil due to fear. This supply from India will help in bringing stability in the market there.
