West Bengal Governor CV Anand Bose has targeted Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Trinamool Congress government over the increasing violent incidents in the state, attacks on BJP leaders and deteriorating law and order. On the attack on BJP MP Khagan Murmu, MLA Shankar Ghosh and MLA Manoj Kumar Oraon in the last two days, Governor Anand Bose said, it is not just an attack on BJP leaders. The attack on a tribal MP shows that even MPs and MLAs are not safe in this democratic state. This means that democracy is not safe in Bengal. Violence and corruption are both cancer in the body of Bengal. It is very important to eliminate them. We need violence free and corruption -free Bengal.

The Governor further said, the situation in Bengal is not good. There is a distance between the government and the public of Bengal. Bengal needs to be replaced. Here democracy is playing and as a governor, I will definitely take necessary action. Regarding the next year’s assembly elections, Anand Bose said, it is the duty of the Central Election Commission to conduct elections impartially. Our Election Commission is very capable and will definitely ensure independent and fair elections in Bengal.
