Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said that Bihar is voting for development today and the people of the state have pledged to maintain the decision they had taken to get rid of “Jungle Raj”.

Addressing an election meeting held in Araria, the Prime Minister said, “Voting is taking place in other parts of Bihar today. People are reaching polling stations in large numbers, youth are also voting in large numbers. This crowd of people is telling what is going to be the result of Bihar assembly elections.” He said, ”Once again the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government… once again the government of good governance. This is Modi’s guarantee. Your dreams are Modi’s resolve.

Criticizing the previous Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) regime in the state, the Prime Minister said that during “Jungle Raj” the development of Bihar was completely stalled.

He said, “Jungle Raj means bitterness, cruelty, bad governance, harshness and corruption.” During that period, the development report card of Bihar was zero. How many expressways were built, how many bridges were built on Kosi river, how many sports complexes were built, how many medical colleges were opened? The answer to all is ‘zero’. Neither any IIT, nor any IIM.

Modi said that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar took Bihar out of “Jungle Raj” and moved it forward on the path of development. He said, “IIT and AIIMS were established in Patna, second AIIMS is being built in Darbhanga, there are four central universities – all this has happened during the NDA government, during the double engine government.”

The Prime Minister said that infrastructure is also being developed on a large scale in the Seemanchal region and “only NDA can bring development in Bihar”. He said that the NDA government is providing permanent houses to the poor, providing free ration and giving Mudra loans.

On the issue of ‘infiltration’, he said, “‘It is the challenge of the NDA government to trace the infiltrators and expel them from the country.’ But Congress and RJD are giving them protection.

Modi said, “Congress and RJD are trying to give them citizenship of the country.” Without taking the name of Rahul Gandhi, he said that the prominent Congress leader insulted Chhathi Maiya, calling her ‘drama’ and ‘nautanki’. Without taking the name of Tejashwi Yadav, he said, “RJD’s famous people are silent on this.” He opposed the construction of Ram temple, criticized the Maha Kumbh. Congress and RJD do not like Lord Ram, Mata Shabari and Nishadraj – it means they hate Dalits, he alleged.

Modi said the NDA’s mantra is “education for all, medicine for all, hearing for all”. He said, “Today jute farmers are getting MSP of Rs 5,600 per quintal, whereas during the RJD regime they did not get even Rs 1,000.”

The Prime Minister said, “My mothers and sisters will not let Jungle Raj come back.” Attacking the opposition alliance, he said, “Infighting is going on between Congress and RJD. The Chief Ministerial candidate of ‘India’ alliance himself is criticizing RJD’s Jungle Raj. At the end of the meeting, he appealed to the public, “Each of your votes is the basis of the bright future of Bihar.”
