Due to the ongoing tension in the Middle East and Israel-Iran conflict, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has taken a big and important decision. The Board has made major changes in the schedule of the ongoing board examinations in Gulf countries by issuing Circular-3 on Thursday, March 5, 2026. This decision has been taken keeping in mind the safety of Indian students and school staff living there, as airspace closure and security concerns have increased in the area.

What changed in the examinations of 10th and 12th?
According to the order issued by CBSE Controller of Examinations Dr. Sanyam Bhardwaj, in view of the current situation, the examinations have either been canceled or postponed. The board has made it clear that this decision has been taken as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of more than 43 lakh students.
Class 10 (Cancelled): All 10th examinations to be held from 7 March to 11 March 2026 in the affected areas of Gulf countries. Canceled Have been done. Apart from this, the examinations which were earlier postponed on March 2, 5 and 6 have also now been considered cancelled.
Class 12 (Postponed): At present the 12th exam to be held on March 7, 2026 has been postponed. Postponed Has been done. The decision on examinations on March 9 and beyond will be taken after a security review on March 7.
This order will be applicable to schools of which countries?
This new rule is only for those countries in the Middle East where there is a security threat. CBSE has clarified that this order will be applicable to CBSE Affiliated Schools located in the following 7 countries:

It is important for Indian parents to know that the examinations in India and other international centers will be conducted as per their old schedule (Original Date Sheet). No changes have been made in any examination in India.
Result and further information
The board has said that the method of preparing the result (Marking Scheme) for the canceled papers of class 10 will be explained separately later. Students and parents have been advised not to rely on rumors circulating on social media and only visit the official website. cbse.gov.in But consider the upcoming updates as correct. The schools are also in constant touch with the Indian embassies so that the students can get the information at the right time.
