New Delhi. In Anjuman Islamia English Medium School of Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, a holiday order has been issued on Friday instead of Sunday. The message of change in weekly holidays has been sent by the school management to the parents’ mobile phones. A controversy has also arisen regarding this absurd order of the school. Calling it unconstitutional, BJP has complained about this matter to Jabalpur Collector and submitted a memorandum. BJP has raised the demand for immediate cancellation of this order. Some parents are also angry with this decision of the school management.
In the message sent by the school to the parents, it is clearly written that as per the orders of the Principal, from the session 2025-26, the school will remain closed on Friday and will open on Sunday. BJP Minority Morcha General Secretary Muzammil Ali has said that fixing Friday holiday instead of Sunday is inconvenient for children, parents and teachers and it is also a violation of the rules laid down by the Education Department. The weekly holiday in the entire country is fixed on Sunday, in such a situation, how can any institution, of its own free will, declare a holiday on Friday instead of Sunday?

On the other hand, Chairman of Anjuman Islamia Management Committee, Annu Anwar, while giving clarification on this entire controversy, has said that due to Friday prayers, many children do not come to school, in such a situation their education suffers. Keeping this in mind, it has been decided to keep Friday as a holiday instead of Sunday. This decision is completely practical. In this matter, Jabalpur District Education Officer Ghanshyam Soni says that at present he has not received official information about this order nor has anyone filed a complaint against him. If Anjuman Islamia School has taken such a decision, an explanation will be sought. On the other hand, Madhya Pradesh Waqf Board Chairman Sanwar Patel said that all the rules made by the government will be followed.
