A big relief news has emerged for the residents of West Delhi. The problems of the people of this area, who have been suffering from the problem of bad roads and waterlogging for a long time, will soon end. Delhi Government has approved the important project of strengthening of Nangloi-Najafgarh road and construction of drainage system there. The foundation stone of this development work was laid under the leadership of Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta during a special program on Monday, which will prove helpful in changing the face of the area.

Nangloi-Najafgarh road will be widened and rejuvenated, better connection with Sahibi river will eliminate the problem of waterlogging.

The blueprint of this project has been prepared in a very detailed manner. Under the scheme, Nangloi-Najafgarh road will be widened and its quality will be improved, so that traffic can be facilitated. Along with this, major technical changes are also being made regarding the drainage system. Better outfall connection to Najafgarh (Sahibi River) and Mangolpuri area will be ensured. The direct objective of this step is to completely eliminate the problem of water logging on the roads during rainy season, so that the hellish situation that occurs every year can be avoided.

The face of West Delhi will change at a cost of about Rs 64 crore, lakhs of people will get freedom from traffic jams and pollution.

According to administrative information, it will cost approximately Rs 64.04 crore to complete this entire project. The purpose of this huge investment is to strengthen the infrastructure of West Delhi. Once the project is completed, lakhs of people in the area will directly benefit. On one hand, the problem of traffic jams will be solved due to construction of roads and absence of waterlogging, while on the other hand, pollution levels will also reduce due to absence of long queues of vehicles. This project will prove to be a milestone in improving the living standards of the local citizens.

In September, the Lieutenant Governor had visited Mundka and outer areas, after seeing the dilapidated roads, he had given instructions to work on priority.

The background for this development work was prepared a few months ago. Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena said on the occasion that he had conducted a surprise inspection of Mundka, Nangloi, Haibatpur, Phirni Road and many other areas of outer Delhi in September 2024. During that time he had found that the condition of many major roads was very bad and the general public was facing a lot of problems. Only after the review done at that time, the repair and improvement work of all these roads was put in the priority list, on which work has now started at a rapid pace.
