There was panic among security agencies after Emirates flight EK526 coming from Dubai to Hyderabad received a bomb threat on Friday morning. The threat was received by e-mail at 7:30 in the morning, in which the name of this particular flight was written. Despite this, the plane was brought to Hyderabad under security surveillance and it landed safely at 8:30.
What happened?
Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport received information through e-mail that a bomb had been planted in EK526. As soon as the information was received, security agencies became active and continuous monitoring continued till the landing of the plane.
The plane landed on time and no emergency was declared.

After landing the aircraft was immediately taken to an isolated bay.

After several hours of investigation, no explosive or suspicious object was found.
Emirates issued a statement saying that the airline fully cooperated with Indian authorities and all standard security protocols were followed.
Passengers and crew safe
All passengers and crew members are completely safe. Passengers were transported to the terminal as normal and operations at the airport later returned to normal.
Third bomb threat in two days
This incident is the third threat related to Hyderabad in the last 48 hours.
Before this-
…had also received a threat, after which both the planes were diverted to Ahmedabad and Mumbai as a precautionary measure. No explosives were found in both the cases.
After these consecutive incidents, security has been tightened at Indian airports, especially on Gulf sector flights.
