After the partial opening of air routes in Dubai and Gulf countries, Emirates airline has started bringing its flights back on track. On March 6, 2026, the company said that it is trying to gradually restore its full service. This is a big relief for the passengers of India because the airline has increased the number of flights to and from India so that the stranded people can be evacuated.

Status of 22 flights and new routes for India
Emirates has confirmed that it has increased its capacity for India. Now the airline is operating 22 services every day to 9 different cities of India. By March 7, the company aims to fly 106 daily flights to 83 destinations around the world, which will be about 60% of its total network.
However, travelers need to keep in mind that some airways are still closed. Because of this, flights have to take long detours. Instead of going over Iran and Iraq, the planes are going through other safe routes, due to which the journey time may take up to 5 hours more.
New rules for ticket booking and refund
The airline has clearly said that passengers should not reach the airport directly. Only those people will be given entry at the airport who have a confirmed booking receipt after 4 am on March 5. If you are transiting in Dubai, your onward flight should also be confirmed.
Rebooking: Those who had booked tickets between 28 February to 31 March 2026, can now change their travel dates to 30 April 2026.
Refund: Refund requests of passengers who do not want to travel in the current circumstances are being processed.
Priority: On limited seats, first chance is being given to those people whose booking is oldest or who are in dire need of repatriation.
Government’s eye on fares and cargo service
Due to less flights, there has been a rise in ticket prices. The price of a last minute economy ticket from Dubai to Mumbai is reported to have reached 2,800 dirhams (about 760 dollars). The Civil Aviation Ministry of India is keeping an eye on these fares so that no wrongful recovery is made from the passengers.
Along with passengers, attention is also being given to transportation of essential goods. Special space is being given in the cargo to carry medicines and perishable food items. Since March 1, more than 17,000 passengers have been evacuated safely through about 60 special flights.
