full news

The pollution level became dangerous after the wind speed reduced in Delhi-NCR on Sunday. The amount of poisonous particles present in the air was so high that the average AQI was recorded at 391, which falls in the severe category.
The worst situation was in Bawana, Vivek Vihar and surrounding areas, where AQI reached above 450.

A day earlier on Saturday, AQI was 370, but in the next 24 hours it increased by 21 points.
The quantity of PM10 and PM2.5 in Delhi’s air was found to be three times more than the normal level.

According to health standards –

Safe level of PM10: 100

Safe level of PM2.5: 60
But on Sunday, PM10 was 373.3, and PM2.5 reached 215.8, which is directly very dangerous for respiratory and heart patients.

The Meteorological Department says that the effect of north-westerly winds will continue in Delhi. This will cause the temperature to drop.
Fog will start from Monday, due to which the air may become heavier and the pollution may further increase by settling down.

Impact on Public (Direct impact on people)

Increased risk for respiratory, asthma, heart and elderly people

Taking children out early in the morning is harmful for health

Traffic and visibility problems due to dense fog

It is important to wear a mask and reduce open-air activities in the morning.
