GST 2.0 has come into force from midnight of 22 September. In the 56th GST Council meeting held on September 3, many companies had already reduced their prices after reducing the rates of goods used in more than 375 Rosarmara life. Now this discount has started to reach companies from 22 September.
On behalf of the government, companies have been asked that the full benefit of GST exemption should be delivered to the customers. The Finance Ministry will monitor the product prices every month. Due to this, there is not much option left for companies not to give exemption. Small business and auto dealers are upset due to some transactions, but initial signs show that the discount is going to customers.
In the last few days, companies preached how cheap their products would be after the GST has decreased. Especially FMCG i.e. prices of everyday eating and drinking and essential things have come down.
