Gulf Air has shifted its operations to Saudi Arabia due to the temporary closure of Bahrain’s airspace. From March 11, 2026, many of Gulf Air’s international flights will operate from Dammam’s King Fahd International Airport (DMM). For the convenience of passengers, the airline has also started a bus service from Bahrain to Dammam Airport so that there is no interruption in international travel.
New routes and ticket rates started from Dammam
Gulf Air has started daily flights from Dammam to many major cities. In these, special arrangements have also been made for the migrants going to Mumbai from India. The fares for these flights have been officially released:
Dammam – Mumbai: Economy class fare is BHD 245 (approximately Rs 61,315) and Falcon Gold (Business) fare is BHD 515 (approximately Rs 1,11,038).
Dammam – London: Economy class fares are BHD 345 and business fares are BHD 1,245. Apart from these, daily service for Bangkok and special flights for Karachi are also being run.
Important rules and registration process for travelers
If you want to travel by these special flights, you will have to follow the new rules. You cannot book tickets for these flights in the regular manner.
It is mandatory for all passengers to first register themselves by visiting gulfair.com/special-flights portal. The airline team will personally contact the eligible passengers and confirm their booking. Any passenger is strictly prohibited from going to the airport or bus stand without a confirmed ticket. Passengers traveling from Dammam must have a valid visa and documents to cross the Saudi Arabia and Bahrain borders.
Bus facility will provide great relief to migrants
Gulf Air has arranged special buses for passengers with confirmed tickets between Bahrain and Dammam’s King Fahd International Airport. These buses will take passengers to the airport via King Fahad Causeway. This move has come as a big relief to Indian expatriates and workers who work in Bahrain and want to return to their country. Until Bahrain Civil Aviation Affairs takes a decision on opening the airspace, flights will operate from Saudi Arabia only.
