Due to increasing tension in the Middle East and closure of airspace, there has been a major impact on air services. IndiGo has decided to cancel many of its international flights following the military attacks between America, Israel and Iran. The airline has extended the ban on its flights passing through the airspace of the Middle East till the night of March 2, 2026.
Important information for IndiGo flights and passengers
IndiGo has issued new guidelines for passengers regarding changes in its flights. The airline is sending notifications directly to passengers’ phone numbers and emails. Passengers who are affected by this situation have been given two options.
Plan B option: Affected passengers can visit the airline’s website and choose another flight at no additional cost.
Full Refund: Passengers can also claim 100 percent refund for their canceled flights.
Time Limit: This facility will be available to those passengers who had booked tickets on or before 28 February 2026 and their journey was scheduled till 7 March 2026.
Airspace closure affected flights
The routes of flights have been changed due to restrictions in the airspace of Iran, Israel, Iraq, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Jordan. This has not only increased the flight time but also increased the expenses of the airlines.

Due to stoppage of operations at big airports like Dubai and Doha, Indians living in Gulf countries and travelers going from there to America or Europe are facing a lot of trouble. The Civil Aviation Ministry and DGCA are monitoring the situation and passengers have been advised to check the status of their flights before leaving for the airport.
